Reading are chasing Bordeaux fullback Mathieu Chalme.

Royals boss Brian McDermott has identified the Bordeaux right-back as a priority transfer target.

The 31-year-old has spent his entire career playing in France's Ligue 1 for Lille and now Bordeaux, where he has been since 2007, so has racked up 10 years of top-flight experience.
