Reading are struggling to strike terms with Watford for defender Adrian Mariappa.
The Daily Star says Reading have failed with a second bid, worth more than £2m, for Watford's Jamaican defender Mariappa, 25.
Mariappa has also been linked with Fulham and Newcastle United.
