Reading chief Nicky Hammond has confirmed the Royals have extended defender Aaron Brown's stay for another season.

The 23-year-old ex-Tamworth player is yet to play Premiership football for the Royals after breaking his ankle in pre-season last year but the club have decided to take up the option of another year on his deal.

Hammond told the club's website: "Aaron has worked tremendously hard to overcome a really bad break.

"We had an option on his deal from Tamworth and we're taking that to give him the opportunity to show what he can do.

"His attitude has been fantastic."
