Reading director of football Nick Hammond insists club owner Anton Zingarevich doesn't choose their signings.

Hammond has insisted that the transfer policy has, and always will be, down to the manager.

He told the Reading Post: "I've worked with Anton for 12 months now, it's been a good relationship, and he has a vast knowledge of football.

"I talk much more about the game than I ever did with (chairman) Sir John Madejski.

"But the support is there. The decision lies with the manager.

"This football club has only ever brought players to the club."
