Reading boss Stam warns disgruntled West Ham youngster Oxford

Reading manager Jaap Stam has urged Reece Oxford not to air his frustrations publicly.

Oxford joined Reading on loan until the end of the season in January but the West Ham United youngster has not been afforded too much playing time since his move to the Championship side.

To express his frustration, Oxford posted a message on Instagram which read "sometimes you have to go back to go forward" and an unimpressed Reading manager Stam has warned the youngster to hold talks with him personally instead of airing his displeasure out in the public.

"I don't read any tweets from anybody," Stam told Get Reading.

"If he is not happy then he should talk to me and not put tweets in the air.

"Then you see what happens - discussions keep on going and people are guessing what's going to happen. Everybody needs to be realistic in the position in where they are and what they can do.

"When he is in I will speak to him and we'll see how it goes."
