Steve Coppell has rejected speculation that Czech international Jan Koller could be on his way to the Madejski Stadium this month.

The Royals have had a quiet summer so far in the transfer market with only Kalifa Cisse and Emerse Fae arriving at the club.

But Reading boss Coppell has moved swiftly to dismiss reports that the giant Monaco forward was a possible target.

He told the Royals' official website: "We've never been in for him, never!

"We had a little spell where we were connected with people, and somebody somewhere made it up."
