Reading boss Brian McDermott wants time-outs introduced to football.
McDermott believes adopting the practice, where a team's boss can call for a break in play during the match, like in American Football, would help him get his message across to his players at crucial points in the game.
He said: "One of the things that would be good to have a time-out. I've always felt there should be one time-out in football.
"I know there's half-time but if it was all going pear-shaped after 60 minutes it would be nice to have a time-out."
