Reading boss Brian McDermott says his players must learn to handle the increased exposure of the Premier League.

McDermott, whose side travel to West Brom today, reminded his players they are under a media microscope after their return to the top flight.

The ex-Arsenal midfielder said: "The focus is incredible - it's amazing. Everything is analysed.

"There's a massive difference between the Championship and the Premier League.

"When I go to the garage to fill my car up with petrol and five people want their picture taken with me, that's a bit strange.

"Why they want a photo with me I really don't know."
