Reading boss McDermott keen to rest players for Cup clash

Reading boss Brian McDermott plans to shake up his line-up for this weekend's FA Cup tie.

McDermott is hoping to rest some of his first-team players against Crawley with relegation-threatened Reading having played three games in seven days.

"Mikele Leigertwood has got a knock while Danny Guthrie hadn't played too many games and now has played three on the spin, so we'll have to look at everybody," he said.

"Pavel Pogrebnyak's been playing that lone role up front and has worked so hard for the group.

"There's a possibility we might make changes but it's a game we want to win."
