Reading boss Brian McDermott won't be moving for Manchester United striker Michael Owen.
McDermott, 50, signed a new three-and-a-half year contract this week after joint-owner Anton Zingarevich convinced him to snub Wolves.
"They have already come up with some money but Michael Owen is not a target, as people keep saying to me.
"If he was fit he would be in the Manchester United team.
"We are five points off an automatic promotion spot and today's trip to Middlesbrough is a test of what we are about."He said: "It was good to hear of the ambition of the new directors.
