Reading boss Steve Coppell won't waver from his blueprint of what he wants in a new signing.
"OK, don't get me wrong, if we had £50 million to spend, we would be in a different market and we would spend it," Coppell told The Times. "But it would be wrong for me to bring in someone earning massively more than everyone else. What I want is a Reading type. It's not a mystical, magical coat that the Reading players wear. It's a chemistry and if someone is not the right type, he can upset that."
Enemies within, the fringe first-teamers, could pose the greatest danger.
"Sooner or later, there are going to be players thinking: 'S***. I played 30 games last year but I'm not playing now'. Their next step is to look for a move and, yes, that could unsettle us, definitely."
