Reading boss Steve Coppell admits he may recall defenders Sam Sodje and Alan Bennett from their loans.

Sodje is on loan at Charlton until the end of the season, while Bennett's deal at Southampton expires in January.

Coppell told Reading World, "We've got an option on Sam and Alan. They could come back in January, it's a question of seeing how they're doing. Sam in particular has done very, very well.

"After a sluggish start, Alan has done well to get back in the Southampton team and can hopefully cement his place. They're playing, which is great, and they're being tested every week. It's an option to bring them back. We're aware of the implications of the Cup Of Nations.

"We have to be prepared for that, and the best way is to have people playing regular football."
