Reading's relegation battle has been hit by a player bust-up.
Fourth-from-bottom Reading face Spurs on Saturday and are just one point ahead of 18th-placed Bolton - with a worse goal difference.
Defender Sonko and Ivory Coast midfielder Fae were told by Coppell on Monday they were in the squad to face Tottenham's reserves at Aldershot that evening.
When the pair both refused to play, Coppell hit the roof.
A Reading source said: "We have never seen him in a rage like this since he has been here.
"He is always extremely calm and never loses his rag, even after defeats.
"But the club are in a difficult situation and he obviously felt those two players were not prepared to fight for their places in the squad ahead of the Tottenham game.
"As a result, the manager does not want them near the place."
