Reading are eyeing Stoke City striker Cameron Jerome.

The Sentinel says the word from Reading is that the club is reluctant to shell out the kind of £3m fee that Stoke would probably be seeking for Jerome to recoup the majority of his £5m move from Birmingham two years ago.

Adkins has declined the opportunity to shoot down stories claiming he made an inquiry for Jerome with only a fortnight left of the transfer window.
