Reading are planning a £1 million bid for Bristol City midfielder Cole Skuse.

The News of the World reports that Steve Coppell has got the 21-year-old midfielder well within his sights at the Madejski Stadium.

Skuse has worked his way through the ranks at Ashton Gate and made 37 starts in all competitions last season as the Robins won promotion to the Championship.

Gary Johnson will be keen to hang on to Skuse, but Reading will be hoping Skuse follows in the footsteps of Leroy Lita, who made a £1million move from Bristol City to Reading in the summer of 2005.
