Reading are planning a bid for Arsenal midfielder Andrey Arshavin.

The Mirror says Reading owner Anton ­Zingarevich is ready to launch an ambitious bid to sign ­Arshavin.

Zingarevich is prepared to offer his fellow Russian a £60,000-a-week deal, but will face ­competition from top clubs his homeland, where ­Arshavin spent the second half of last season on loan at his former club Zenit St ­Petersburg.
