Roberto Martinez was thrilled with his Everton players after they forced a 1-1 draw with Kuban Krasnodar in Russia on Thursday night.
The Toffees grabbed a vital point on the road in their second Group H fixture in the Europa League thanks to Samuel Eto'o's 82nd-minute goal and it was a performance that pleased the manager who felt his side showed a lot of character against a tricky opponent.
"I thought Krasnodar played really well, they started with a lot of energy, they created a couple of opportunities, but we showed incredible character," said Martinez who saw his side fall behind to Ari's strike late in the first half.
"In the second-half we finished the game very well, and in the end it is an incredible result for us.
"It was a very good away performance, and weather the storm for a couple of periods, and could have won it at the end.
"We showed incredible character at the end."
Everton now sit temporarily on top of their group on four points with the Wolfsburg v Lille clash still be completed.
