Red Bull Leipzig striker Timo Werner hopes Mesut Ozil rethinks his international retirement.
The Arsenal midfielder quit Germany's national team after a controversial World Cup, citing racism as reason for his decision.
"I think it's a pity that it ended like that," Werner told BILD. "He did a lot for Germany and was a regular in the World Cup triumph in Brazil.
"One wishes that both parties reassemble and do not diverge in this way. I also believe that many in the team would be happy if Mesut Özil said I'll do it again.
"He is a player who can make the difference and is highly regarded in the team."
