RB Leipzig chiefs warn Arsenal, AC Milan off Forsberg

RB Leipzig chiefs have warned Emil Forsberg he's a required player for next season.

Linked with Arsenal and AC Milan this season, Forsberg refused to rule out leaving RBL over the weekend.

However, the club's sports director Ralf Rangnick declared: "I have said on several occasions in recent months that we will keep all the top performers together except for Naby Keïta.

"For me, Emil Forsberg is one of the top performers, even if he could not seamlessly follow the previous season. Not only for him, but for others as well.

"Nevertheless, he is clearly a top performer. That's why I do not think for a second that Emil could leave the club."

Rangnick added: "This game makes no sense. If it is up to me, Emil Forsberg remains. And in the last six years, the club supported me. So he will play here next year."

RBL chief exec Oliver Mintzlaff also said: "We are looking forward to starting the summer with a refreshed Emil in the preseason and are also pleased that he plays next season for us - that's why we have extended the contract for the long term."
