Raul Meireles is ready to quit Chelsea.

The Sun says the Portugal midfielder was deeply unimpressed with the way AVB was undermined by the club, before being dismissed after just 257 days in charge.

Now he is contemplating his next move, just seven months after he joined from Liverpool for £11million.

Ironically, Meireles scored the first goal of the post-AVB era in last week's 2-0 FA Cup replay triumph at Birmingham.

But he pointedly refused to celebrate his stunning 25-yarder and headed straight down the tunnel at the final whistle, while his team-mates milked the applause of the travelling fans.
