Razvan Rat admits he is baffled by West Ham United's current injury crisis.
The east London club have a shortage of unavailable defenders such as skipper Winston Reid, James Collins and Joey O'Brien while Guy Demel suffered concussion on the weekend and James Tomkins is set to serve a ban after being sent off in the weekend's 2-0 win over Cardiff City.
That basically leaves Romanian international Rat to lead the defence alongside Wolves loanee Roger Johnson and the former Shakhtar Donetsk ace can't understand why it has all occurred at once.
"It's like a curse! Every game we seem to get another injury, I don't know what we can do. The players that are fit have to be strong and try to get good results," he told the club's official website as the Hammers get ready to welcome back striker Andy Carroll.
"We have not had much luck, so let's hope that it is starting to come back to us after Saturday.
"It's a good thing for us that Andy Carroll is back. He will give us a boost as he is the main man up front.
"He will get fitter and better with every game he plays."
