Claudio Ranieri is eyeing the Newcastle United job.

The Daily Star Sunday says former Chelsea boss Ranieri fancies the chance to become 'The Toon Tinkerman'.

The Italian, sacked as Greece coach last month in the wake of their Faroe Islands humiliation, has told associates he is interested in replacing Alan Pardew at Newcastle.

Much-travelled Ranieri, 63, spent four years at Chelsea until 2004 and earned the nickname 'The Tinkerman' for his constant squad rotation.
