Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has advised his star duo Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez that they must strive to improve every day.

Both players recently made to the Ballon d'Or short-list, but the Italian manager has warned them that their nominations must not suppress their hunger to continue achieving.

He said: "It is the first time Leicester players have been nominated, I'm very proud of my players.

"But every day they must show they are strong and they want to improve and they are ambitious.

"That is my philosophy. What we did, is the past. Every day is new – the future. If you don't run there is no future.

"I'll take them out the squad and that keeps them on ground. Every day they must prove themselves hungry."
