Ranieri admits Juventus may buy in January

Juventus may enter the winter market, admits coach Claudio Ranieri.

With Jorge Andrade out for the long-term, Giorgio Chiellini sidelined for at least a month and Jean Alain Boumsong considering a loan move to Besiktas, a January arrival is likely.

"We'll see, we are evaluating the situation," confessed Ranieri. "It is easy to figure out - if one leaves, then another must come to replace him. Olof Mellberg? Talk to the club, transfer policy is their work, not mine."

This week Alessandro Del Piero hit out at the side, suggesting the team, Coach and directors had to "do more" if they were to achieve something this term.

"I agree with the captain. We did a great deal and forced the sceptics to reconsider, but we do need to improve. The fans have been close to us from the start and this squad is effectively a child learning to walk.

"We stumbled, we will do so again, but our fans are there to hold us up. They have recognised we are putting in a superhuman effort to take Juventus back to the top."
