Rangnick happy to groom his successor at Everton

Ralf Rangnick is ready to help Everton groom his successor if he wins the manager's job.

The Mirror says the former Schalke chief has told Blues chairman Bill Kenwright he will appoint a club legend as his No.2 if he gets the job.

Alan Stubbs, David Weir and Phil Neville left Everton this summer, and Rangnick says he would work closely with one to show him the tricks of the trade - ahead of eventually succeeding the German at Goodison Park.

The plan has caught the imagination of Kenwright who has not just been looking for a boss after losing David Moyes to Manchester United, but also fretting about the exits of Stubbs, Weir and Neville.
