Rangers Young Player of the Year staying put

Rangers midfielder Charlie Adam was named the club's Young Player of the Year by supporters in 2007 but is keen to stay at Ibrox despite limited first team opportunities this campaign. The 23-year-old midfielder has vowed to stay and fight for his place despite being linked with a move across the border.

"That's just newspapers for you. It's part and parcel of football. I've probably not played as much as everybody would have expected me to this season so my name would be mentioned," he told the Evening Times.

He added: "But I'm fine, I'm happy here. It's a great club to be at.

"Until anything becomes concrete then I am happy here. I am learning here everyday with the players, the coaching staff and the most important thing is that you put into practice in games what you learn on the training pitch.

"I have been in and out of the side but I won't complain.

"I'll just keep working hard and hope that an opportunity will come up and I can get involved and get a run in the team."
