Rangers assistant manager Kenny McDowall says they understand Maurice Edu wanting to leave.

The USA midfielder can't contemplate playing in the Scottish Third Division.

"Edu is the exception - he wants to go for international reasons, with a World Cup looming. You can understand that. We'll just crack on. But if we know, we can act on it," said McDowall.
