Rangers winger DaMarcus Beasley has told the BBC that he was very close to joining Schalke 04. "The Schalke thing was real, it was pretty close," said the 26-year-old. "It was close. It went down to the wire it just didn't happen. But I'm a Rangers player and I love being here."

Beasley has struggled to find time with Rangers but is determined to make his mark.

"I'm happy to be here and fighting for my spot and that's what I'll be doing for the next four months. We have a lot of football to be played and anything can happen. If we can bring three cups home, I'll be happy."
