New Rangers owner Craig Whyte says winning this season's Scottish Premier League will be a stepping stone to bigger things in the next few seasons.
The venture capitalist took control of the Glasgow giants on Friday and is now looking at securing the club's third-straight title, which they currently lead by one point with two matches remaining.
Whyte feels that if 'Gers can hold off Old Firm derby rivals Celtic in the race for the title, then a ripple effect will take hold and the club will put themselves into a strong position in the European side of things.
"Our focus is completely on winning the league," he told SunSport.
"That is the gateway to Europe and the Champions League.
"As a football club and as a business we want to be successful both on and off the pitch. Rangers are now in a position that we are debt free."
