Rangers veteran Weir: No reason to worry about Celtic

Rangers veteran Davie Weir isn't bothered about Celtic's game with Motherwell. While the Hoops will be nervously awaiting updates from Kilmarnock, Weir says Rangers must focus only on their own job, insisting Celtic's game will not be an issue.

"I'm not interested," said the veteran defender.

"Our focus is on ourselves and how we do and that's all we can affect and that's what we have to worry about.

"We have to make sure we do our job properly and then whatever happens elsewhere is irrelevant.

"Hopefully we can enjoy it after the game, but leading up to it and during the game it is work.

"That's what we're here to do, to work and to try to win a title for the club, for the fans and for ourselves.

"We have to be focused and concentrated on that and then hopefully afterwards we can enjoy it and look back on it."

Rangers are on a winning run that sees them head into the final day with a single point advantage at the summit.

Weir added: "Obviously we've got confidence. We know it's going to be difficult on Sunday but we're playing well enough and we realise the importance of the game.

"So I think there is a bit of confidence, but obviously not over-confidence.

"When you realise what is at stake in the game you have to be nervous and I think that is a good thing and I'm sure there will be a few nerves flying about before the game."
