Rangers snap up Kilmarnock keeper Smith

Kilmarnock goalkeeper Graeme Smith has moved to Rangers on a free transfer after signing a three-year deal.

The 24-year-old turned down the offer of a new contract at Kilmarnock and will compete with Allan McGregor for the number one spot at Ibrox.

Smith came through the ranks at Kilmarnock after previous loan spells at Queen's Park and Stenhousemuir.

"He fits the bill," said manager Walter Smith. "He's still got a bit to do but he'll get good experience here."
