Rangers showing interest in Honduran striker Bengtson

Rangers are believed to be in pursuit of Honduras international striker Jerry Bengtson.

The 24-year old Motagua star has emerged on the 'Gers radar indicating that the reigning champions could be considering the January sale of Nikica Jelavic to Leicester City for £7.5million.

Bengtson, a close friend of Celtic full-back Emilio Izaguirre, is rated at around £2.5m meaning Rangers will get some much-needed income if they do happen to sell Jelavic and buy the former Vida man.

Bengtson is a prolific scorer in Honduras' Liga Nacional and has also netted eight times in 20 international caps for Los Catrachos.
