Scottish giants Rangers are set to appoint Man City academy chief Mark Allen as the director of football.

Rangers have been hunting for a suitable candidate for some time, and Daily Mail claims that Allen is currently their preferred target to fill the position.

Allen has been in charge of City's youth setup since Sheikh Mansour bought the club in 2008. When asked about the recent speculation night, an Ibrox spokesperson said: "Rangers will not comment on speculation."
