Rangers rule out surgery for Lafferty

Rangers have ruled out an operation for injured forward Kyle Lafferty.

The 24-year old suffered a back spasm during the 2-0 win at Hibernian on Saturday with recent scans suggesting he will not require surgery with manager Ally McCoist giving him a chance to be available for tomorrow's meeting with Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

"I'm not sure about Lafferty yet, possibly," he stated yesterday. "He had reasonably good news about scans on his back.

"He is fine. It's a wee problem but nothing major. No surgery is needed and he is hopefully going to train tomorrow."
