Rangers owner Whyte axes King from board

Rangers owner Craig Whyte has removed Dave King from the club’s board with reports suggesting his command was questioned by the South African-based businessman.

King was axed by Whyte late last week with an official announcement to be made this week citing objections towards the owner’s regime as the reason for the dismissal.

It is believed that King raised protests when he learnt that Whyte had mortgaged four years of season tickets to raise £24.4million and he has met the same fate as the likes of former chairman Alastair Johnston, chief executive Martin Bain, financial director Donald McIntyre and Paul Murray who were all axed after Whyte’s takeover from Sir David Murray.
