Rangers have offered goalkeeper Allan McGregor a new contract in a bid to stave off interest from bigger clubs. The 29-year old Scotland international has emerged as a target for the likes of Aston Villa, Bursaspor and Sevilla in recent times and was also loosely linked with Manchester United in the winter but 'Gers are determined to secure his services for the remainder of his career.
McGregor already has two years running on his current deal but reports suggest that Rangers officials have offered him a four-year extension which would see him stay at Ibrox until he is at least 35.
The deal is believed to be worth around £15,000-a-week and would provide great security for the former St Johnstone and Dunfermline Athletic loanee but he may wish to test himself at a higher level if the opportunity arises.
