Rangers Novo come to terms with super-sub tag

Nacho Novo accepts life on the bench with Rangers although that doesn't mean he's necessarily happy with the situation. The frontman told the Scottish Sun: "For the past two and a half years under the gaffer, Ally McCoist and Kenny McDowall it has always been the same.

"You always want to play and I'm no different, but sometimes you have to be content with a place on the bench.

"Sometimes you play well, sometimes you don't.

"You need six or seven games in a row to get your confidence up and show your best. But there is a lot of competition. There are a lot of strikers so I have to just keep working hard and hopefully the rewards will come.

"The gaffer's a good manager and you can speak with him about it. I always try to take the positives and it has made me a better player.

"Years ago I would have moaned at the manager, but you start to realise you need to think about the needs of the team and stop being selfish.

"I've learned from the gaffer and he has given me a lot of good advice.

"Everybody wants to play for him, although we have let him down over the last two games."
