Rangers' Naismith to miss Scotland's clash with Brazil

Rangers striker Steve Naismith will be pulled out of Scotland's squad for this weekend's friendly clash with Brazil at the Emirates Stadium in London.

Naismith injured his hamstring and endured groin problems in yesterday's Scottish League Cup win over Celtic and will be forced out of the much-anticipated meeting at Arsenal's home ground.

Scotland assistant coach Peter Houston confirmed that the 24-year old, along with back-up goalkeeper Iain Turner would miss, whilst Celtic captain Scott Brown and Sunderland defender Phil Bardsley were in doubt.

"Steven has a hamstring and groin injury from yesterday and Iain Turner is also out," said Houston.

"Phil Bardsley and Scott Brown, who took a knock yesterday as well, are joining us but we will need to assess them over there.

"We will look to see if we need to bring anyone else in and Craig (Levein) and I will discuss it."
