Steven Naismith is expected to be fit to take his place for Scotland in their Euro2012 qualifier with the Czech Republic on the weekend.
Craig Levein's men meet the Czechs at Hampden Park this Saturday and should be with Rangers star Naismith who took a heavy knock to his hip in the 2-0 win over Aberdeen on Sunday.
The problem had eased up yesterday afternoon and it seems as though the 24-year old will be available for Lvein who is a massive fan of the former Kilmarnock man.
"Steven's reached a stage where he's one of the guys who gets ticked in the box for being a starter. Absolutely," the Scotland boss said.
"The great thing is I can say that with Steven knowing he'll continue to do exactly what he's been doing, whether he gets praise or not.
"I can comfortably give him credit for what he's done as I know full well he'll continue to do the same things no matter what. People like Steven, who have had setbacks, interest me.
"He's had difficulties with injuries and nothing has gone smoothly for him.
"He's had to fight every step of the way to get into the Rangers team and prove he's a Rangers player. Now he's done more than that, he's probably not just one of the most important players in their team, he's one of the most important in the Scotland team too."
