Rangers midfielder Black up against SFA charge

Rangers midfielder Ian Black is facing charges made by the Scottish Football Association regarding to betting on football.

The 28-year old has been served with a Scottish Football Association notice of complaint that claims he placed bets against his 'then-registered club' three times between March 4, 2006 and July 28, 2013.

Black, who has played for Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Heart of Midlothian and Rangers during that time, has also been charged with breaching the SFA's disciplinary rule 22 by 'betting on a further 10 football matches that 'involved then-registered club' and 'betting on a further 147 football matches.'

Black has until August 23 to respond to the complaint prior to the initial disciplinary hearing which takes place on September 12. A Rangers spokesperson told the Daily Record: "The Club is aware of the SFA's Notice of Complaint and are currently investigating the matter."
