Rangers McCulloch considers Scotland comeback

Rangers midfielder Lee McCulloch is considering coming out of international retirement with Scotland. McCulloch controversially quit the Scotland scene in the middle of the World Cup qualifying double-header against Macedonia and Iceland in September 2008.

The 31-year-old, who was injured at the time, was said to have been keen to concentrate on his club career.

There were also reports he did not want to play under former Scotland boss George Burley and Rangers' own official website stated McCulloch's U-turn was the result of "a change of regime".

He said on Rangers' website: "I think I need to have a word with the gaffer [Smith] and Craig Levein.

"The middle of the park is the strongest part of Scotland's team so there are six or seven players that are possibly younger than me that would come into the frame.

"So I don't want to say that I would come back or not.

"We will just have to wait and see what happens."
