Rangers want to play Portsmouth in a money-raising friendly.

The Daily Mail says administrators at Rangers have been asked by stricken Portsmouth to agree to back-to-back friendlies at Ibrox and Fratton Park in a bid to raise desperately-needed cash for both clubs.

Gers need to make savings of £1million a month to make up a shortfall of £4.5m between now and the end of the season.

And Championship side Portsmouth, who are also battling to avoid liquidation after falling into the hands of unpopular owners, have proposed the fund-raising games in order to capitalise on supporter goodwill and raise £1.5m to be split between the crisis clubs.
