Nacho Novo hopes his goal last weekend kickstarts his Sporting Gijon career.

The Rangers hero is off the mark after he scored the equaliser in Sporting's 1-1 draw with Almeria.

"I have struggled with form and injuries," he said.

"I hope this is the turning point in my time at Gijon, but I am happy because it meant the team got a point.

"It has taken time for me to get used to the rhythm of the competition and maybe I have suffered with injuries."
