Former Rangers goalkeeper Andy Goram admits he could not believe the chain of events that occurred yesterday.
News broke in the afternoon that the Glasgow giants were set to enter administration not long before the announcement that ex-striker Daniel Cousin had signed with the club.
Goram, who played for 'Gers between 1991 and 1998, says he was left in disbelief as Rangers' crippling financial situation reached its worst point prior to them bringing a new player to pay.
"I watched Sky Sports news report Daniel Cousin had signed one minute. The next it flashed up Rangers were applying for administration.
"How does that work? No one understands what's going on at the club. The fans need answers.
"It's no surprise to anyone. Everyone seemed to know it was coming.
"This is without the tax bill. We still don't know how much that's going to be if Rangers lose their case (with HMRC).
"I'm not blaming (owner) Craig Whyte for this mess but he had six months due diligence before taking over.
"He knew exactly what was coming. He'll get his money back, as a main creditor. The whole scenario is just a mess. It's ridiculous.There was money coming in from Europe over the last few years. We just got £6million in for (Nikica) Jelavic (From Everton).
"Whyte has mortgaged season tickets for the next three years. Will anyone actually still come to watch the team?
"So many questions need answers. Whyte isn't telling the fans exactly what is happening."Rangers and administration. Words I never thought I'd say in the same breath," he wrote in a column for SunSport.
