Rangers are going for Arsenal defender Kyle Bartley.
The Daily Record says in the next 24 hours new Rangers boss Ally McCoist is expected to speak in person with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger to find out if the Frenchman would be prepared to strike a loan deal to let Bartley return for another 12 months in Glasgow.
Bartley enjoyed an impressive loan spell at Gers last season before injury cut short his deal.
The defender has already declared a readiness to return.
