Rangers French striker excited by striker competition

The Ibrox front line has been bolstered by the signings of Kenny Miller, Andrius Velicka and Kyle Lafferty.

"The fact Rangers have brought in three new strikers doesn't worry me, it excites me," said Darcheville.

"I see a lot of potential at Rangers, I love the club and I am settled in Scotland. I don't want to leave."

The Frenchman, who turns 33 next month, was the club's second-top scorer last season with 15 goals.

"It's fantastic news that the club is looking to strengthen and that's why I will be there next season," Darcheville said.

The player's agent, Karim Djaziri, also underlined his client's commitment to the club.

"Jean-Claude is very happy in Scotland and doesn't want to leave," he said.

"In fact, he wants to finish his career at Rangers."
