Rangers fall into liquidation, players' contracts up in the air

Rangers Football Club has now fallen into liquidation after Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs confirmed on Tuesday that it will vote against a Company Voluntary Arrangement proposal.

It is now expected that talks will occur between 'Gers administrators Duff & Phelps and Professional Footballers Association Scotland to clear up the issue of players' contracts now the Glasgow club is forced into liquidation and has become a newco.

"We are of the firm view that the players' contracts transfer to the newco," joint-administrator Paul Clark told Record Sport.

"PFA Scotland have a different view and talks have taken place between our lawyers and theirs.

"It's a situation that needs to be resolved."
