Rangers boss Ally McCoist has indicated that Nacho Novo could make a shock return to the club.

The 32-year old Sporting Gijon striker has been training with his former club at Murray Park during winter and could be used as a replacement if Premier League target Nikica Jelavic happens to depart in January.

"Nacho looked good in training, but it may be the case I have to move players out before I can bring anyone else in," McCoist said.

"I am meeting Craig Whyte on Monday to discuss our budget."
