Rangers didn't come close to our valuation of Sandaza - St Johnstone chairman

St Johnstone chairman Steve Brown has revealed that Rangers never came close to their valuation of striker Fran Sandaza.

The Ibrox club reportedly made bids for the Spaniard and although Brown has dismissed that, he did admit there were talks regarding the player but 'Gers indicated they were not keen to pay up.

"Rangers didn't make an offer. They made inquiries, but it didn't move from their position of a few weeks ago," he said.

"They knew our figure was £300,000 and they were quite a bit away from that.

"There was no indication Rangers were willing to pay money for Fran.

"Rangers knew our expectations and didn't even come close."
