Rangers are currently three points ahead of Celtic with a game in hand while they face Sporting Lisbon in the last eight of the UEFA Cup.

And the left-back is convinced that the league has to take precedence over the European campaign.

"It's so important for us to win the championship," said Papac. "We have a big chance to do it and we must take it.

"I know we are still in the UEFA Cup and that is also important but in my opinion the one we should really want is the league.

"I've been here for nearly two years and last season was a difficult time as we didn't win many games under Paul Le Guen. But we are winning matches now and I am enjoying life. It's a nice feeling.

"I want to keep it going. Every game we have left must be treated like a cup final and the next one is against Celtic which we must win."
